Can You Share the Gospel… Anywhere ?
Being the most eloquent is not the measure of who is able to help lead someone to Christ. Even though your heart lets you know that you should share the Good News, you may feel that you are not a good speaker or you may be afraid to speak in front of other people.
The best way to overcome this fear is just to go out and do it. This is one area where hands-on-experience may be a lot more effective than studying. Plus, it’s easy. Just share with someone else, how you got saved. Share where you were and what you believed, and how your beliefs changed.
The Samaritan woman is a good example. She hadn’t even been saved for an hour and she had already led a multitude of people to Jesus…
“And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did” (John 4:39).
All she did was tell others what Jesus did for her, and ask them to come find out for themselves…
“Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.”
Simply tell others how precious Jesus is to you, and what He has done for you. Then ask if they would like to hear the Good news that He has for them as well.
Some people will say no, but some will say YES and be saved. Our assignment is to go forth. The Word is the seed, God will nurture and bring forth the fruit at harvest time.
“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest” (Luke 10:2).
There are people who are waiting and hoping to hear from someone just like you. It may seem like everyone around you has some understanding of God’s word. They simply have chosen to follow or not. But, there are many people who are curious about Jesus, but may have never had someone explain the Gospel in a way that they understand or in a way that only you can.
“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1st Timothy 2:4).
That is why it is so important to Be YOURSELF. Your uniqueness is exactly what will resonate with the people whom God has aligned and crafted you to share with. Why else were you fearfully and wonderfully made?
We hope this boosts your confidence in sharing your faith.
You asked if they want to be saved, and they said YES! Minister Danen Butler shared this short and effective salvation prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Now, help me to live for you the rest of this life.
In the name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen.”
